This title, published in 1979 and long since out of print, now appears as a reprint from Lars Müller Publishers. The original book was released in the series of publications Source Materials of the Contemporary Arts initiated by Kasper König and produced by the Press of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

The publication represents an important document in Dan Graham’s artistic examination of the video medium. Graham’s installations and performances with video from the years 1970–78 are documented with numerous illustrations, photos, and brief descriptions. In addition, the volume contains an essay by the artist in which he examines the various possibilities and forms of representation offered by the video medium, and draws the boundaries between these and representational spaces in television, film, or architecture. The book also offers contributions by Michael Asher and Dara Birnbaum, as well as an annex with a biography and bibliography.

アメリカ人アーティスト、ダン・グレアム（Dan Graham）の作品集。本書は、1979年に刊行され、長らく絶版となっていた同タイトルのオリジナルをスイスの出版社「LARS MÜLLER PUBLISHERS」が復刻した2013年版である。

本書は、ビデオというメディアを芸術的に検証する作者の実践を研究する上で、一つの重要な資料となりうる一冊である。1970年から1978年までの間に作者が制作した、ビデオを用いたインスタレーションやパフォーマンスが、多数の図版、写真、概説とともに記録されている。さらに、ビデオという媒体がもたらす様々な表現の可能性と形式を検証し、テレビ、映画、建築における表現空間とビデオを用いた表現との間にある境界線を描く作者自身によるエッセイも収録。コンセプチュアルアーティストであるマイケル・アッシャーとビデオ・インスタレーションアーティストのダラ・バーンバウムによる寄稿、あわせて作者の略歴と参考文献も掲載する。

美術史家であるベンジャミン・H・D・ブクロー（Benjamin H.D. Buchloch）が本書の編集を手がける。

オリジナル版は、ドイツ国内外で現代美術展覧会の構築において重要な役割を果たし、今や老舗出版社であるWALTHER KONIGを兄弟で設立したドイツ人キュレーター、美術館ディレクター、教育者でもあるカスパー・ケーニッヒが手がけたシリーズ「Source Materials of the Contemporary Arts」の一つとして出版された。同シリーズは、「The Press of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design」によって制作されている。
