This piece dates from the early 1980s, a relatively early period in YOHJI YAMAMOTO’s career. Rather than featuring the oversized silhouettes typically associated with the brand, it is a very classic and structured double-breasted peak-lapel jacket. It is crafted from high-density wool gabardine, and the buffalo horn buttons add a wonderful touch. Another notable feature of this piece is that it was tailored in France rather than Japan.

YOHJI YAMAMOTOの比較的初期にあたる1980年代初頭頃の作品で、所謂YOHJI YAMAMOTOで連想されるようなビッグシルエットではなく、非常に普遍的で構築的なダブルブレストのピークドラペルジャケットです。素材も密度の高いウールギャバジンが用いられ、水牛ボタンの雰囲気もまた非常に良いです。日本ではなくフランスで仕立てられているのも本作の背景の特徴になります。
