This piece is made from exceptionally high-quality cashmere knit fabric sourced from Scotland. As a general rule when designing such premium knits, designers rarely incorporate edgy elements; instead, they almost always opt for a more understated, safe design. In that sense, the composition of this piece is highly unusual—I think it’s exceptionally rare to pair this cashmere with metal buttons that have such a striking presence, almost like those on a Napoleon jacket. However, I think the cuteness and balanced finish of this piece represent a design that caught everyone off guard—a true blind spot that no one anticipated. Coming across vintage pieces like this offers a different kind of richness compared to acquiring famous vintage or archive items.

本作はスコットランド産地の非常に上質なカシミアニットを用いていますが、こういった上質なニットをデザインする際のセオリーとして、エッジのある要素が加えることは少なく、もっと当たり障りのないデザインでフィニッシュするケースがほとんどです。そういった意味で本作の構成は非常に珍しく、まるでナポレオンジャケットのような存在感抜群のメタルボタンをこのカシミアに合わせてくるというのは異例中の異例だと思います。しかし、この可愛さ、バランスの仕上がりは誰しもが予想していない盲点のようなデザインでもあったと思います。こういった古着に出会えると、著名なVINTAGEやARCHIVEを手にできることとはまた違った豊かさがありますね。
