This is an early 1990s LEMAIRE piece. It predates LEMAIRE’s appointment as designer for LACOSTE—a role he took on after serving as creative director at HERMES. The design features meticulously crafted elements such as the structured chest pocket and the gusset at the hem. It’s a superb design that infuses the essential elements of a shirt—such as the center back seam—with a spirit of minimalism that balances the minimal and the maximal, along with a passion for craftsmanship. While the core philosophy may be the same as that of today’s LEMAIRE, this is an exceptional design whose approach is entirely distinct.

1990年代の最初期のLEMAIREになります。元HERMESクリエイティブ・ディレクターでもあるLEMAIREがLACOSTEのデザイナーに就任するよりもさらに前のものになります。作り込んだ構造の胸ポケットや裾のガゼットのアイデア。背面のセンターシーム部分などシャツに必要不可欠な要素に最小かつ最大というミニマリズム精神と熱量を注ぎ込んだ素晴らしいデザインとなっております。根幹は今のLEMAIREと同じ思想ではあるのかもしれませんが、アプローチは全くの別物と言って然るべき優良デザインです。
