DAISUKE TANABE

DESIGNER: DAISUKE TANABE 

 Daisuke Tanabe was born in Osaka.

After graduation, he joined Hosoo, a long-established Nishijin textile company based in Kyoto, and was involved in fabric production.

In 2023, he became independent and launched “DAISUKE TANABE” bearing his own name.

The greatest feature of his collections is leather products, which are all originally developed from the leather stage.

The collection is made of high quality materials such as tannin leather from Incas in Italy and mouton from Tuscany, and is produced by combining dyeing and traditional techniques from Kyoto.

The company offers items that combine the strength of a product with the attitude and story of the designer, who has aspired to be a film director since childhood.

京都大学在学中にパターン養成学校に通いながら服作りの基礎を学び、卒業後は京都を拠点とする西陣織の老舗企業 細尾に入社し生地作りに携わる

2023年に独立、自身の名を冠した「DAISUKE TANABE」を立ち上げた

レザーやデニム、ニットウェアを強みとしたコレクションを展開しており、特に革段階から全てオリジナルで開発しているレザープロダクトが最大の特徴である

イタリアのインカス社のタンニンレザーやトスカーナのムートンといった上質な素材に、京都の染めや伝統技法を絡めて製作される

プロダクトとしての強度と、幼少期から映画監督を目指していたというデザイナーのアティチュードやストーリー性を併せ持ったアイテムを提案している
