Although PETER DO made a sensational debut as the successor to PHEOBE PHILO, his relatively early pieces—which were still crafted in his New York atelier—were rarely available for purchase in Japan, so many people likely only saw them in photos. The silk crepe fabric is of exceptionally high quality with a plump, substantial feel; although it’s a jacket, it has a soft drape, and the cuffs are designed like shirt cuffs. Since items of this caliber originally carried very high price tags, I think being able to purchase an unused piece at this price is part of the pure charm of vintage clothing.
