This is a Hermès piece from the period when Jean Paul GAULTIER was the designer. It’s a wide-strap camisole top made from beautiful cotton shirting fabric. At first glance, it may seem simple and unassuming, but the way the fabric has aged—with the depth created by the puckering in the stitching—gives the impression that this was carefully designed to age gracefully, which only reinforces my sense that it is a truly beautiful garment.
